The average monthly net salary paid per employee in legal entities in the Republic of Croatia for January this year amounted to 1,094 euros, which is nominally and real higher by 4.6 percent compared to December, while on an annual basis, compared to January last year, it is nominally higher by 11.7 percent, and real lower by 0.9 percent, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) published on Tuesday.
The highest average monthly net salary paid per employee in legal entities for January was in air transport, amounting to 1,685 euros, while the lowest was in the production of leather and related products and other personal services, amounting to 748 euros.
According to DZS data, the median net salary for January 2023 was 930 euros, which means that half of the employees earned less and half earned more than that amount.
The average monthly gross salary per employee in legal entities for January this year amounted to 1,499 euros, which is nominally and real higher by five percent compared to December last year.
On an annual basis, the average gross salary is nominally higher by 13.1 percent, and real by 0.4 percent.
In January this year, there were an average of 175 paid hours, which is at the same level compared to December last year. The highest number of paid hours was in the healthcare sector (183), while the lowest number of paid hours was in social care without accommodation (153).
The average monthly net salary per hour for January this year was 6.14 euros, which is nominally higher by 4.8 percent compared to December, and compared to January last year, it is higher by 7.2 percent.
Realistically, the average net salary per hour on a monthly basis is higher by 4.8 percent, while on an annual basis it is lower by 4.9 percent.
