Croatia gets a new EY Entrepreneur of the Year

On Thursday, March 16, we will learn the name of the eighth EY Entrepreneur of the Year who will represent domestic entrepreneurship at the world finals of this prestigious program in Monaco. As announced, after the duo from Bomark Pak who celebrated last year, this year’s award winner will be chosen by an independent jury among 51 registered entrepreneurs from 38 successful companies, demonstrating that Croatia has visionary individuals who, despite all challenges, are relentlessly building their businesses and contributing to the creation of a strong entrepreneurial environment.

The global program rewarding the most successful entrepreneurs, EY Entrepreneur of the Year, has been held in Croatia since 2014, when Alan Sumina and Zoran Vučinić from Nanobit won this title, and also recognized as leaders of excellence were Đuro Horvat from Tehnix, Marko Pipunić from Žito, Mate Rimac from Rimac Automobili (now Rimac Group), Izabel Jelenić, Silvio Kutić, and Roberto Kutić from Infobip, Hrvoje Josip Balen, Mislav Balković, and Tomislav Dominković from Algebra, as well as Miljenko Borščak and Stiven Toš from Bomark Pak.

Regarding the significance of the program during last year’s edition, Berislav Horvat, Country Managing Partner at EY Croatia, emphasized that it is confirmed every day that the EY Entrepreneur of the Year program fulfills its goal of promoting the importance of true entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship for the economy and society as a whole. The jury president, Emil Tedeschi, highlighted that this award is proof of a new era and new ideas.

– It is an elite, but not an exclusive award. It celebrates the desire and joy of creation, every individual story of creating new values. The EY Entrepreneur of the Year award represents a happier perspective of a more successful, healthier, and sustainable society and a more prosperous community – he stated.

By honoring the best, the EY Entrepreneur of the Year program is not only a unique opportunity to celebrate business successes but also to strengthen the entrepreneurial culture by positioning entrepreneurship as a topic in public discourse and a call for perseverance and excellence. The program is held not only in Croatia but in over 60 countries worldwide, enabling entrepreneurs to expand their business contacts and gain unique insights into global entrepreneurship.

As before, the eighth Croatian EY Entrepreneur of the Year will be decided by an independent jury led by the CEO of Atlantic Group, Emil Tedeschi. Alongside him in the jury are successful Croatian entrepreneurs Nenad Bakić and Saša Cvetojević, as well as previous EY Entrepreneur of the Year award winners Alan Sumina, Đuro Horvat, Marko Pipunić, Mate Rimac, Silvio Kutić, Hrvoje Josip Balen, and Miljenko Borščak.

The eighth EY Entrepreneur of the Year will have the opportunity to represent Croatia at the world finals in June in Monaco at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year selection, where they will be among the best global entrepreneurs.
