Recently, smart chatbots powered by artificial intelligence have flooded the internet. ChatGPT has caused a stir among people who suddenly began to fear for their jobs, thinking that this artificial intelligence would soon replace them. To quell the fear of artificial intelligence while also having some fun, two friends Craig Shervin and Steve Nass, employed at a marketing agency in New York, decided to create the dumbest chatbot in the world.
– “With so much talk about artificial intelligence stealing jobs from people, especially various writers, people are having an existential crisis, wondering ‘are we needed?’ That’s why we decided to create an artificial intelligence so dumb that it could never threaten to take someone’s job or cause any existential crisis,” said Craig Shervin to BuzzFeed News.
The duo named their chatbot ‘2dumb2destroy‘, and instead of being trained on massive datasets like ChatGPT, it was trained on total nonsense, stupidity, and dumb movies that we watched as kids in the 90s. Thus, this chatbot possesses knowledge from, for example, all seven Police Academy movies, gives excellent advice like Frank Drebin from the Naked Gun films, and includes smart quotes from Ralph Wiggum, the son of the police chief in The Simpsons, as well as many quips from Zoolander, The Office series, and many other trash comedies and humorous series.
