The Future of Family Businesses Conference Approaches. Find Out What Awaits You

Family businesses are a very important and unavoidable factor in the economy of every country. It is estimated that in Croatia more than 50 percent of employees come from such family businesses, which speaks volumes about how strong and important a subject this is. The family business is dominant in the structure of the economy, but the uniqueness of the interaction of ownership, management, and succession is largely neglected in understanding the strategic orientation and performance of such companies.

Due to the impact of family entrepreneurship on national economies, many developed countries are increasingly discussing the need to apply various programs and instruments of economic policy that recognize the specificities of family businesses.

Lider has therefore been organizing the Future of Family Businesses conference for the 14th consecutive year, which will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023. at the Sheraton Zagreb hotel.

The conference aims to raise awareness and promote the positive role of family businesses, providing answers to the most important questions they face today. Assisting family businesses in solving special problems related to this form of ownership and management is of great importance. By having a larger number of participants, we aim to create a network of family businesses encouraging mutual cooperation and exchange of experiences.

What is the next step for your business and when is the right time to hand over the company to the heirs will be discussed by Andrija Garofulić, a partner at Mazars in Croatia, Serbia, and Slovenia, Ivana Draženović Mesarov, an industry specialist for the small and medium client sector at Erste Bank, Ante Drnasin, co-owner and member of the Management Board of Deltron, Maša Serdinšek, M&A from Studenac, and Vladimir Nol, director of tax consulting at Mazars in Croatia and Serbia.

Many concrete tips for heirs and founders will be provided by the participants of the New Generation Business panel, Domagoj Cvetko, director of Oprema, and Domagoj Radić, sales director at Pekar, with panel moderator Jasmina Očko, a controlling consultant from Kontroling Kognosko.

A special panel is dedicated to Generation Z and millennials in family business, where their experiences will be shared by Ana Čalić, marketing manager and continuous improvement leader at Navela, Ella Jagodin, HR manager at Ante Mijić-Quercus, and Rikard Pažitka, project manager at Pro Alarm Technologies.
