Academic painter Hana Tischler, a Zagreb native with a Lisbon address, was invited to London Fashion Week as a resident artist. Tischler is a member of the FIDA (Fashion Illustration and Drawing Award) organization, which, in collaboration with Fashion Scout, invited fashion illustrators from around the world, members of FIDA, to participate in the shows by drawing on the runway and backstage. – I have never drawn at live events before, so this was something completely new and exciting for me. I had a little nervousness, but I simply shifted my focus to the models, the paper, and the creative process. In the studio, I usually have my peace and am alone with myself. This was definitely a challenge, but I am glad I broke the ice – said Hana.
Successful series
FIDA and Fashion Scout connected artists with designers and fashion week to create cohesion among different types of art and provide an opportunity for artists and illustrators, members of FIDA, to experience something new and promote themselves and their work. Thus, Tischler described her participation in Fashion Week as extremely inspiring for her artistic work, a chance to meet talented people from the fashion industry. In addition to this participation, Hana can also boast of winning the main award at FIDA’s annual competition last year, the largest global award for fashion illustration and drawing. Her work has also appeared in the pages of Vogue and on the social media profiles of famous figures such as Edward Enninful and Naomi Campbell.
