Average producer prices of agricultural products in the fourth quarter of last year increased by 21.7 percent compared to the same period in 2021, according to data released on Tuesday by the State Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
Prices of plant products rose by 16.7 percent, while prices of live cattle, poultry, and livestock products increased by 37.8 percent.
Statisticians note that in the last quarter of last year, compared to the same period in 2021, prices rose in all major groups of plant products.
According to the DZS, the increase in prices of plant products was most influenced by the rise in prices of cereals (by 37.9 percent), industrial crops (by 6.5 percent), wine (by 4.8 percent), fruit (by 11.7 percent), and vegetables (by 23.6 percent).
In the group of products with the largest share in livestock, prices of milk (by 43.5 percent), prices of pigs (by 57.2 percent), prices of cattle (by 21.3 percent), prices of poultry (by 26 percent), and prices of table eggs (by 71.1 percent) saw the highest increases in the fourth quarter of last year compared to the same quarter in 2021.
Fertilizer prices increased by 43.5 percent.
Prices of goods and services for current use in the fourth quarter of 2022 were 29 percent higher compared to the same quarter in 2021.
According to the DZS, the rise was primarily influenced by the increase in prices of energy, fertilizers, and animal feed.
Thus, energy prices rose by 48.7 percent, fertilizers by 43.5 percent, and animal feed by 37.8 percent.
Prices of seeds and planting material increased by 15.9 percent, veterinary services by 4.3 percent, and plant protection products by 3.8 percent, according to statistical data on the quarterly price index in agriculture for the fourth quarter of 2022.
