Five Digital Marketing Trends in 2023 You Must Not Miss If You Want to Achieve Results

2023 has arrived, bringing with it a multitude of interesting trends in digital marketing. You are probably aware of the fact that something that is popular at this moment may be irrelevant tomorrow (read, by the end of next month).

To help you prepare for the upcoming trends, we present them below.

Some of them will certainly be discussed at Lider’s training Marketing in Practice, which will help you achieve your goals in 2023 with minimal investment. The training will take place from February 8 to 10.

1. User-Generated Content

How to persuade people who visit your website or follow you on social media to buy a product or service? Of course, you can “decorate” your site or social media with a plethora of quality photos along with excellent descriptive text, you can list all possible advantages and benefits for your customers… but that is no longer enough today.

This is where UGC, i.e., user-generated content, comes into play. Some examples of such content include:

  • Video testimonials where users share their experiences about a product or service
  • Reviews written on Google, Facebook, TripAdvisor…
  • Unboxing video content
  • Social media posts where users share how they enjoy using the product or service…

You can ask users to leave a written review or a video recording and offer them a discount for it. Your potential customers will trust this generated content more than the content you publish, no matter how perfect it may seem at first.

2. AI and ChatGPT

You have probably read a lot about ChatGPT lately, and even in the latest issue of Lider, one of the main topics is ChatGPT.

How can it help you? Very simply. With the help of ChatGPT, you can research topics you will write about, you can ask it to write articles that include certain keywords important for your SEO, you can tell it to write a status for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn…

Practically, you have an assistant who knows a lot and with whom you can push boundaries and organize things on another level. For example, you can ask ChatGPT to research a specific topic you would write about, along with certain keywords, and then you can structure your blog based on that with additions you have applied from practice, participant statements, etc.

3. Short Educational Video Content

Let’s assume you are currently an authority in your field, the best way to present that knowledge is through a series of short video contents aimed at sharing knowledge. Many make mistakes in this case because they often publish content that is more advertising than something useful, which no longer works on social media today.

On platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat, short and dynamic video content, which is primarily educational, has recently dominated.

4. Quick Responses and Better Customer Service

None of us have time to waste. Everything we do, we want to be done in a very short time. The same applies to your potential customers. People do not like filling out forms and then waiting a day or two for a response; they want quick interaction.

For this reason, this point will be more important than ever. Many have already added chatbots to their websites, allowing for quick interaction with customers and potentially increasing conversions.

This may not seem related to digital marketing at first, but no campaign can be successful if the customer does not receive quick and timely feedback.

Additionally, there are options where you can immediately offer users to select a question and answer on the platform you are using (chat, for example), which also results in time savings.

5. Elimination of Third-Party Cookies

What are cookies? They are actually data collected through web browsers and sites that speak about user habits. They have been used for about a decade and have often been the primary way to target users on the internet.

“Third-party” cookies, made by a third party, usually refer to advertising platforms, social networks, etc. They track you, monitor your activities, and collect analytical data. These data enable precise advertising, and the elimination of this functionality will certainly lead to changes.

This will change the way digital advertising functions, it will surely open up new channels and opportunities that have not been considered before, and it will certainly aim to attract new users and collect their data.

I hope these tips will help you improve your online presence, and for anyone who wants to know more, I suggest enrolling in the training Marketing in Practice, where with colleagues Mato Rajić and Grgo Marić, I will show practical examples that you can apply in your business as early as tomorrow.
