A Major Transaction Completed Between a Slovak Fund and a Belgrade Company

The consulting firm Grubišić & Partneri announced at the end of last year the successful completion of its ninth transaction in the field of mergers and acquisitions, which differed from the previous eight, as well as from all other previous years, in one ‘detail’. That ‘detail’ was that only the consultant was a Croatian company, while the main actors in the transaction were players from Slovakia and Serbia.

Grubišić & Partneri was engaged as the exclusive financial advisor to the management and shareholders of the Belgrade company Quantox Technology, which had its capital increased by Sandberg Capital, a private equity fund based in Slovakia, for €20 million. Quantox Technology, which was awarded the title of Fastest Growing Entrepreneur of the Year in Serbia for 2021 by EY, is one of the largest regional software development companies serving business clients across Europe, Canada, and the USA. It employs over 500 professionals working from 13 development centers in seven different countries. The investment from the Slovak fund, as noted by the Zagreb consulting firm, marks the largest capital growth round in Serbia (excluding web3) and one of the largest in Southeast Europe in 2022.

Andrej Grubišić, the director of Grubišić & Partneri, announced a few months ago that there would be a transaction on last year’s list involving clients from outside Croatia, expressing that the company is particularly pleased about this. Of course, this is about expanding the reputation beyond Croatian borders!

Grubišić then announced that his company would enter 2023 with several interesting mandates from different industries and that, regardless of a possible mild recession, he expects another good year in the mergers and acquisitions segment, provided that the war does not escalate beyond the borders of Ukraine.
