Exchange Kunas for Euros at Post Offices

Starting Monday, January 2, citizens across Croatia will be able to exchange Kunas for Euros at 1016 post offices. Kunas can be exchanged throughout 2023 at all post offices in the Republic of Croatia. The most important information regarding the currency exchange process is outlined below:

  • Up to 100 banknotes and 100 coins can be exchanged free of charge. Above these amounts, a fee of 1.5% will be charged on the amount of the smallest denominations.
  • If exchanging amounts greater than 750 HRK, prior notification of the exchange is required.
  • If possible, banknotes and coins should be sorted by denomination.
  • In the first two weeks, during the dual circulation period, payment in Kunas in a single transaction can be made with a maximum of 50 coins and the corresponding number of banknotes.

On New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1, 2023, only the post office 10000 Zagreb will be open, and from Monday, January 2, post offices across the Republic of Croatia will operate according to their regular working hours.
