Construction of the logistics center RC Zone Samobor worth 75 million euros begins

Czech investor RC Europe has obtained a building permit for the construction of a distribution-logistics center in the Bobovica economic zone in Samobor, valued at 75 million euros, with the center’s opening planned for 2024, the company reported on Tuesday.

According to the statement, this investment has the potential to create hundreds of new jobs, and the center is expected to include 86,000 square meters of warehouse space, built according to the latest principles of green construction suitable for logistics and manufacturing activities.

The General Director of RC Europe Antonín Dillenz stated that he is pleased to confirm that their project for the construction of the RC Zone center is successfully continuing.

– With the obtained building permit, the last obstacle for the realization of our investment has been removed, which is eagerly awaited by potential tenants and partners with whom we have been negotiating since the beginning of the year – he emphasized.

The center will, as he noted, represent a unique example of completely green and sustainable construction in the logistics segment in the country, and this investment will also contribute to the quality of life of the local population, not only through new jobs but also through the development of infrastructure and better traffic connectivity of Samobor and its surroundings.

– Croatia is finally on the brink of Schengen and the Eurozone. For us, this means significantly lower business and transport costs; in logistics, border controls are part of everyday life, so a borderless Europe truly means saving time and money for us – Dillenz stated in the announcement.

The opening of the center, as he said, is planned for 2024.

RC Europe has already obtained the necessary building permits for the construction of the access road and the relocation of the Bregan collector and has completed most of the infrastructure works, enabling further realization of the investment, the statement notes.

In addition to the construction of the access road, work on the roundabout area has recently been completed, including vertical signaling, and the process of building stormwater drainage has been finished, while the construction of public parking and an access bridge to the center has also begun.

RC Europe, a Czech development-investment company, has been active in the international market since 2005.

After significant experience in the construction and management of shopping parks and mixed-use buildings, the RC Zone Samobor project marks the group’s entry into the logistics segment, the statement concludes.
