Ericsson Nikola Tesla and Telekom Kosovo have signed a contract worth over 65 million kuna, which outlines cooperation related to the modernization of the core and radio network as well as the maintenance of the Kosovo operator’s network, reported Ericsson NT on Monday.
The contract encompasses the modernization and virtualization of the entire core network, the introduction of the most advanced equipment in the radio part of the network, and the introduction of the Kosovo dialing code 383.
The CEO of Telekom Kosovo Burbuqe Hana emphasized that the contract, aimed at modernizing the mobile network and transitioning to the dialing code 383, brings significant benefits to users and improves mobile telecommunications services by introducing the latest technologies in the telecommunications industry.
The contract enables Telekom Kosovo not only to expand 4G broadband coverage throughout the populated area but also to enter the era of 5G broadband technology.
Telekom Kosovo is transitioning to its own international dialing code 383, thus avoiding the costs associated with using the international dialing code of Monaco, she stated. From a technical perspective, Telekom Kosovo will appear in the international telecommunications network as a company of the Republic of Kosovo.
