The Croatian Banking Association has published a map of ATMs on its website, which will be updated daily until January 15, 2023, showing the locations of active ATMs that are operational for cash withdrawals during the adjustment process for the introduction of the euro.
There are just over 4,000 ATMs owned by banks in Croatia, and based on agreements among banks at the HUB level and in cooperation with relevant institutions, a detailed plan for adjusting the ATM network has been prepared.
By the end of December this year, some ATMs will be gradually and temporarily shut down to adapt them for cash withdrawals in euros starting January 1 of next year. According to the adjustment plan, on the last day of December, citizens will have access to 1,300 ATMs that will dispense cash in kunas, and from January 1 of next year, 2,700 ATMs will dispense cash in euros. It is expected that all 4,000 ATMs will be adjusted and operational by January 15 of next year at the latest.
Considering that during the adjustment period, citizens will have access to a smaller number of ATMs from their banks compared to regular operations, from December 15, 2022, to January 15, 2023, there will be no fees for cash withdrawals using debit cards at ATMs of other banks in the Republic of Croatia, to ensure that citizens have a sufficient number of ATMs for cash withdrawals in kunas until the end of this year and euros starting January 1.
