Gas deliveries from Germany to Poland via the Yamal-Europe pipeline were halted on Monday morning, while Russian shipments through Ukraine to Europe remained stable.
From six to seven in the morning, the outgoing flows at the measuring point Mallnow on the German-Polish border were at zero. An hour earlier, 1,305,783 kilowatt-hours of gas were arriving in Poland from Germany, according to data from the pipeline operator Gascade.
In Slovakia, 41.3 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas were arriving this morning from Ukraine via the border point Velke Kapusany, as was the case the day before, according to data from the Ukrainian transmission system.
Russian gas producer Gazprom announced on Monday that it would deliver 42.4 million cubic meters of natural gas to Europe via Ukraine.
In mid-November, Poland announced that it would take over the assets of the Russian gas giant Gazprom, including a 48 percent stake in Europolgaz, the owner of the Polish section of the Yamal pipeline.
The forced administration will ensure the safety of key gas transit infrastructure, said Polish Development Minister Waldemar Buda at the time.
Poland imposed sanctions on Gazprom in September, announcing the freezing of its assets due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Russia, on the other hand, suspended gas exports to Poland as Warsaw refused to pay in rubles.
