In October, 1.62 million employed, 1.2 percent more than last year

In Croatia, there were 1.62 million employed, which is 1.2 percent more than in the same month last year and 0.1 percent less than in September, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.

According to DZS data, there were slightly more than 1.73 million active residents in Croatia in October, or 0.3 percent more than in September and 0.4 percent more than in October last year.

There were 112.1 thousand unemployed, which is a monthly increase of six percent, while compared to October 2021, their number decreased by 9.2 percent.

The registered unemployment rate in October was 6.5 percent, which is an increase compared to September when it was 6.1 percent.

The majority of the employed, or slightly more than 1.4 million, were employed in legal entities in October, which is 0.6 percent more than in the previous month and 1.3 percent more than in October last year.

There were 196.1 thousand employed in crafts and freelance professions in October, which is 4.5 percent less than in September and 0.7 percent more than in October last year.

The number of insured employees in agriculture was 18,583, which is the same as in September and 0.1 percent less than in October last year.

According to DZS data on the number of employees in legal entities, out of 19 activities in October this year, the number of employees increased in 15 compared to September, while it decreased in four.

On an annual basis, an increase in the number of employees was recorded in 12 activities, while a decrease was noted in seven.

By the number of employees, the manufacturing industry remains in first place with 230.7 thousand, which is a monthly increase of 0.4 percent, while on an annual basis, it is a decrease of 0.5 percent.

In trade, 211.9 thousand people were employed in October, which is 0.1 percent more than in September and 1.1 percent more than in October last year.

The education sector ranks third in the number of employees with 123.3 thousand, which is 7.6 percent more than the previous month and 1.4 percent more than a year ago.
