Average producer prices of agricultural products in the third quarter of this year increased by 27.5 percent compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
Prices of plant products increased by 29.4 percent, while livestock, poultry, and livestock products rose by 23 percent.
Compared to the same period last year, prices increased in all major groups of plant products, statisticians explain.
The increase in prices of plant products was primarily influenced by the rise in prices in the groups of cereals (67.6 percent), vegetables (16.5 percent), industrial crops (12.9 percent), and wine (8.9 percent).
In the group of products with the largest share in livestock production, compared to the same quarter of 2021, prices of pigs increased the most (35.6 percent), followed by milk (28.1 percent), cattle (11.8 percent), and prices of table eggs also significantly increased (56.2 percent).
Prices also rose in all other groups in livestock production, notes the DZS.
Prices of goods and services for current use in the third quarter of this year compared to the same period last year increased by 44.8 percent, with the rise primarily influenced by the increase in prices of energy, fertilizers, and animal feed.
Thus, energy prices increased by 79.5 percent, fertilizers by 135.6 percent, and animal feed by 32.8 percent.
Prices of seeds and planting material also rose by 18.6 percent, plant protection products by 3.8 percent, veterinary services by 4.5 percent, etc.
