Huawei, one of the leading technology companies, announced a series of business updates and innovations during its annual HDC.Europe developer conference at the Web Summit 2022. More than 200 developers and business leaders participated in HDC.Europe where Huawei held a panel on the growth of HUAWEI Mobile Services (HMS), including the announcement of the latest technologies and development vision for 2023.
– Our business vision is to provide every Huawei consumer with an incredible user experience with cutting-edge and advanced hardware and software technologies. The integration of our innovative devices and Huawei ecosystem innovations has become crucial for the success of our consumer business in Europe. Together with our development partners from the HMS ecosystem, we have solidified our position as the 3rd largest global mobile ecosystem and we are excited to continue innovating and growing in this diversified market – said William Tian, president of Huawei Consumer Business Group’s European division, speaking during HDC.Europe.
AppGallery Celebrates Impressive Growth
AppGallery, also available on the recently launched Mate 50 Pro flagship, prioritizes investing in its partners to bring excellent applications to the platform. Since its overseas launch in 2018, the growth of the HMS ecosystem has been impressive. By the end of the third quarter of 2022, AppGallery had over 580 million active users monthly, of which 45 million were in Europe. In 2021, AppGallery achieved 432 billion global app distributions, while Huawei’s global developer community grew to over 6 million developers, resulting in more than 220,000 applications integrated into HMS Core. The number of applications available for download on HMS smartphones also increased by 147% in 2021.
In pursuit of excellence and providing top choices to consumers, AppGallery continuously offers globally impactful applications alongside a rich integration of local applications that meet diverse user needs worldwide.
With the aim of retaining and attracting new users, Huawei announced its brand new loyalty program on the AppGallery platform at HDC.Europe, which rewards users with countless discounts at checkout. Users can upgrade to a higher loyalty level and seek discounts of increasing value, download new applications, and make in-app purchases. In September 2022, Newsweek awarded AppGallery the ‘Rising Star’ award at the leading international consumer electronics fair, IFA 2022, in Berlin. The award is a testament to the quality of the platform and the partners whose applications Huawei delivers.
Huawei Ads Ensures Quality Traffic and Revenue for Partners
Across Europe, businesses are facing an increasingly challenging economic environment. For this reason, Huawei is working with its partners to implement the most cost-effective solutions for their businesses, enabling them to direct greater financial support to areas where it is most needed, such as those related to the growth and strengthening of their customer services.
Since its launch in 2020, Huawei Ads has increased its advertiser network by 9 times, covering over 200 advertising industries. Meanwhile, Huawei’s publisher network has grown 4 times and is expected to grow again at the same rate during 2023. Huawei Ads now has over 60 certified agencies globally, one-third of which are in Europe, such as AppSamurai and AVOW.
Quality traffic and quality data obtained from development and business partners are key focuses of Huawei Ads, whose commitment has already been recognized in the industry. A partnership with Integral Ad Science – the leading global brand safety partner for traffic quality verification – has also been announced, and key industry certifications such as IAB Europe Certified Vendor and TAG Certification Against Fraud are being applied. The quality of Huawei Ads campaigns has also been recognized by the App Growth Awards and Digiday Awards, where Huawei was named a finalist.
Huawei currently reaches 3 billion daily ad requests and is expected to continue growing by about an additional 400% in 2023. Besides Huawei Ads, there are many other business growth opportunities within the Huawei ecosystem. After launching on AppGallery, many applications have integrated with HMS applications to provide users with a better digital, interconnected experience. This means that Huawei can offer enhanced experiences around searching, navigation, and payment. For example, users of Petal Maps and Petal Search can explore a wealth of information using cutting-edge technology and through leading travel and navigation applications, such as Skyscanner and Booking.com.
