RC Europe One Step Closer to Realizing Its Logistics Center in the Bobovica Economic Zone

RC Europe has submitted a request for obtaining a building permit for the construction of a distribution-logistics center in the Bobovica economic zone in Samobor. This is a significant step forward in the continuation of the development of a green investment worth 75 million euros. Earlier this autumn, RC Europe already obtained the necessary building permits for the construction of an access road and the relocation of the Bregan collector, thus enabling further realization of the investment.

RC Europe is the investor and contractor for all the mentioned works and the owner of the parcels on which the works are taking place, which were purchased from private owners. The investment amount for the new access road to the future logistics-distribution center RC Zone Samobor and the relocation of the Bregan collector is around one and a half million euros, and the completion of the works is expected by the end of the year. The new access road will provide easy access to the business zone and remove heavy traffic from the populated area, which will certainly be of great benefit not only to the investor but also to the local population.

– We believe in this project and are pleased with the successful continuation of the realization of our first investment in Croatia and the fact that we have the support of the local government as a legitimate and desirable investor. We are in intensive negotiations with potential partners who appreciate the exceptional location and high standard of our logistics center and see it as a perfect solution for their business in the coming longer period. We are convinced that the RC Zone Samobor project will greatly benefit the local community, not only through the opening of new jobs but also through the development of new infrastructure; however, I want to emphasize the national aspect of the project, which is reflected in connecting Croatia with the broader market of the European Union, which is particularly important in the phase of Croatia’s entry into the eurozone and the Schengen area – stated Adriana Vuković, CEO of RC Europe in Croatia.

– We are pleased that investors from RC Europe, after analyzing other possible locations, have chosen our City of Samobor and the Bobovica economic zone, where we see great potential. An investment worth more than half a billion kuna, which has the potential to open 800 new jobs, is great news not only for our local community but also for the whole of Croatia and the wider region. Our country needs strong infrastructure projects that pull along all other entrepreneurial activity and are a strong value multiplier in the industry. I am sure that this project will help attract other investments to the City of Samobor and its surroundings, and we as the local government will strive to always provide quick, quality, and professional support – stated Petra Škrobot, Mayor of the City of Samobor.

Let us remind you, the RC Zone Samobor project plans to build 84,000 m2 of warehouse space with a net height of 12 m, suitable for logistics and manufacturing activities. The center is designed according to the latest construction and ecological standards of green building and will be located in a strategically exceptionally favorable location that ensures accessibility to major European metropolises, close access to Slovenia, and an exit for Samobor on the A3 highway. The project will create hundreds of new jobs for various types of workers from Samobor and the surrounding area.

By the end of the year, it is planned to obtain a building permit for the construction of the facility itself and the start of the first serious construction works at the beginning of 2023, while the opening of the logistics center RC Zone Samobor is planned for 2024.
