ENT and Crnogorski Telekom: Five-Year Agreement Worth 12.5 Million Euros

Ericsson Nikola Tesla and Crnogorski Telekom signed a five-year agreement worth 12.5 million euros (approximately 95 million kuna) on Monday, continuing their years of successful collaboration in the maintenance, enhancement, and modernization of Crnogorski Telekom’s mobile network, as announced by Ericsson Nikola Tesla.
The agreement was signed by the President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla Gordana Kovačević and the CEO of Crnogorski Telekom Stjepan Udovičić.
According to the statement, the CEO of Crnogorski Telekom stated that the collaboration with Ericsson Nikola Tesla is very important for the Telekom and expressed that they will continue to jointly direct resources towards strengthening mobile infrastructure.
“Ericsson Nikola Tesla is a reliable partner with whom we will build a network that will be of European quality,” said Udovičić, who is confident that the two companies will continue to work successfully to modernize the entire network of Crnogorski Telekom very quickly.
He noted that Ericsson Nikola Tesla has been supporting Telekom in network development for several decades, and together they have initiated the project of launching a commercial fifth-generation network, which is one of the largest in Montenegro in recent years.
“We have been implementing other major projects with their support for many years, including a significant modernization of the 4G network, again in record time at 80 locations in Montenegro, thanks to which we have the highest coverage of the populated territory of Montenegro – over 97 percent of the population and nearly 78 percent of the total territory of Montenegro – with the 4G network,” Udovičić stated.
Gordana Kovačević thanked Crnogorski Telekom for recognizing the excellence of Ericsson Nikola Tesla and its experts, confirmed by numerous operators worldwide.
Kovačević is pleased with the continuation of the long-standing cooperation with the leading telecommunications operator in Montenegro, and it is a shared desire to provide the best user experience to customers in Montenegro through strong partnership and teamwork.
“The conclusion of this agreement, which includes the introduction of 5G technology across Montenegro and the modernization of the entire radio network of Crnogorski Telekom, will ensure an increase in network capacity and a reduction in latency,” emphasized the President of Ericsson Nikola Tesla.
As stated in the announcement, Crnogorski Telekom became the first operator in Montenegro to launch a commercial 5G network at multiple locations in Podgorica in March this year, and by mid-year, Podgorica became the first 5G city in Montenegro. Today, 18 Montenegrin cities have an active 5G network, covering nearly 70 percent of the population, and the entire project was realized with the support of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, which provided secure and reliable network technology, the announcement concludes.
