Argentine Football Association and flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, announce regional partnership

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) and the Dubai-based airline flydubai announced a regional partnership today. The agreement will enable the partners to collaborate in marketing and branding opportunities through their channels over the next four months.

The Argentine national football team, known as La Albiceleste, has participated in five World Cup finals and is currently the Copa América champion, a title the team has won 15 times in its history. Through this partnership, flydubai will become the regional partner of the Argentine national team and their chosen airline for the Middle East region.

In the coming weeks, AFA and flydubai will launch a series of activities as part of the partnership, which will communicate the most valuable attributes of both brands. This includes stars from the Argentine men’s national football team and special activations with the team during their stay at the training camp in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

– We are very enthusiastic about this partnership with flydubai. The Argentine Football Association is constantly seeking new experiences that enhance the interaction and direct connection of the Argentine team with fans around the world. Our partnership with flydubai will allow more football lovers across the region to feel even closer to the Argentine team and to join the excitement of the tournament in Qatar. Argentina has positioned itself as a leading association in the world of football, and flydubai is changing the way people travel in the region. We welcome flydubai as our new partner, enabling AFA and the Argentine team to connect with millions of fans in the region, said Claudio Fabian Tapia, President of AFA.

Commenting on the partnership, Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, stated that they are honored to be the regional partner of the Argentine Football Association and the Argentine national team.

– flydubai is committed to connecting people, that is what we do, bridging distances and breaking down barriers. This partnership celebrates these core values that we share with football. We look forward to enabling more football fans to travel comfortably and easily to Qatar to cheer for their favorite teams and be part of the football atmosphere from the moment they board one of our 30 Match Day Shuttle flights. We are extremely happy to support La Albiceleste, and the flydubai team wishes them luck at the world’s biggest football tournament, added Al Ghaith.

– This partnership with flydubai brings the Argentine team even closer to fans in the Middle East and allows them to be part of the exciting atmosphere of the World Cup. We are excited about the potential this partnership holds.

We hope this will bring our team, players, and the excitement of the game closer to fans in the region, whether they travel to the tournament in Doha from Dubai or from other cities via the flydubai network. AFA is constantly seeking new valuable partnerships to expand its global reach, and flydubai will enable us to enter new developing markets, which represents our mid-term and long-term goals. We look forward to the coming months in which we will see both brands leverage the full potential of this collaboration, said Leandro Petersen, Director of Commercial Marketing of the Argentine Football Association.

For the upcoming football championship in Qatar, flydubai will operate up to 30 Match Day Shuttle flights daily between Dubai and Doha. These Match Day Shuttle flights are offered in partnership with Qatar Airways and will provide football fans with travel options to the matches taking place from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
