Ina has selected KPMG to conduct an external audit of its gas trading business processes, it was reported on Monday.
KPMG is one of the four largest auditing firms in the world and was chosen through a tender process.
The Management and Supervisory Board of Ina initiated the external audit process with the aim of improving gas trading business processes. This procedure followed Ina’s internal investigation into the Škugor case, the results of which the company submitted to USKOK, according to Ina’s statement.
The external audit will, as stated, provide advisory services on how to improve operations and gas trading activities and what potential corrective or preventive actions should be considered. It will also review Ina’s gas trading portfolio for the period from 2020 to 2022.
The completion of the external audit is expected by mid-November. After the preparation of a comprehensive report, the results will be delivered to the Management and presented to the Supervisory Board of Ina.
– The Management of Ina is fully committed to reviewing the company’s control systems and other business processes with a particular focus on gas trading activities. We expect that the external audit will provide us with an independent view of our gas trading processes and recommend opportunities for further development of our systems so that the company can achieve even stronger and better results – stated the CEO of Ina Péter Ratatics.
