Tamara Perko leaves the helm of HBOR

Tamara Perko, the CEO of the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR), has completed her five-year term and is leaving the bank. Perko sent an email to business associates today, thanking them for their cooperation so far.
Although it has not been officially announced, Perko is set to take over as the head of the Croatian Banking Association (HUB), replacing the current director Zdenko Adrović.
It is not known who will succeed Perko at HBOR, nor who will serve as acting director until a new leader is elected. The Ministry of Finance, which is responsible for selecting the new Management Board, responded that ‘given that the process of selecting candidates for the president and members of the Management Board of the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development is ongoing, they are unable to comment on either the process or the final selection of candidates.’
In fact, in addition to Perko, the current member of the HBOR Management Board, Hrvoje Čuvalo, is also nearing the end of his term. The Ministry of Finance announced a competition in mid-September for the selection of a president and two members of the HBOR Management Board, which means that the Management Board will again be three-membered. The deadlines for applications expired at the beginning of the month. Perko joined HBOR in 2017 from the position of Director of Project and Structured Financing at Zagrebačka Bank.
During 2021, HBOR supported Croatian entrepreneurs with nearly 1,800 placements totaling 7.7 billion kuna, as stated in the revised annual financial report of HBOR for the previous year.
The most numerous users of HBOR’s loans last year were small and medium-sized enterprises, which were granted 1,108 loans, or 93 percent of the total number approved. Exporters were supported with more than 700 placements totaling over four billion kuna.
