Davor Baković is the newly elected president of Croatian Exporters (HIZ), having replaced Darinko Bago, the former head of Končar-electroindustry, who held the position of president since the association’s inception.
The decision to change was made at the 23rd electoral assembly of HIZ, held on September 22, 2022, where new leadership for the association was elected. The re-elected vice president of HIZ is Professor Marijana Ivanov from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb, while the vice presidents elected are Hrvoje Čuvalo, a member of the Management Board of HBOR, Marinko Došen, CEO of AD Plastik, Aleksandra Hadun Homar from Podravka, Vjekoslav Majetić, owner of DOK-ING, Domagoj Matasić, CEO of E.G.O. Elektro-komponente, Alojzije Šestan, CEO of Šestan-Busch, and Ivo Usmiani, president of the Supervisory Board of JGL.
The newly elected president Baković, director of KONČAR-Mjernih transformatora, intends to continue the mission of Croatian Exporters – promoting exports and representing the interests of Croatian exporters, as well as involving as many exporters in the association as possible, since increasing export potential and insisting on excellence is the only path to the economic recovery of Croatia, emphasizing that the issue of exports is also a demographic issue. Additionally, Baković thanked the members of the Assembly for their expressed trust, emphasizing that it is an honor for him to succeed Darinko Bago, the founder of HIZ, from whom he had the opportunity to learn and collaborate over the years. He briefly presented his life path and the career he built at KONČAR-Mjernih transformatora, one of the successful exporting companies from the KONČAR group, which has its export assortment present in about a hundred countries worldwide.
