The First Conference for Women in Retail Will Feature Six Impressive Speakers

As women make 80 percent of purchasing and household decisions, the problem is that they are underrepresented in the management of companies in the FMCG and manufacturing sectors in retail. Companies that want to capture a market dominated by women must reflect their customer base, meaning women should be represented in the management where decisions are made.

The Ruthlessness of the Market

That is why we decided to organize the first Conference for Women in Retail – retail, wholesale, logistics, and manufacturing. The goal of the conference is to empower women already working in this sector, as well as attract new women to the industry. Ultimately, the aim is to increase the number of women in company management from the industry.

It will take place on October 20, and along with essential networking, attendees will have the opportunity to hear great speakers. The conference will be opened by Maša Mutić, Manager IQOS Experts and Direct Retail at Phillip Morris International, who will present on “Challenges, Changes, and Personal Development.” She will discuss the challenges and adaptations of a retail company undergoing a significant transformation from a stable, established business.

Next on stage will be the Executive Director of Namještaja Mima, Marina Marjanović, who will explain in her lecture titled “The Ruthlessness of the Market and Small Companies” what it means to play the game in a ruthless market and how to position a small company alongside ‘big players’ in the furniture retail sector.

‘Marathon to Success’

Ivana Bijelić, Executive Director of Bijelić Co, will present on the topic “Marathon to Success,” providing attendees with an overview of personal and professional growth and development metaphorically depicted through several phases of preparing for a marathon. She will also share her methods for coping with stress and explain how to gain the necessary self-confidence.

Following this, there will be a lecture on “Emotional Intelligence in Business” by Davorka Tolić, a trainer, coach, and consultant from Tremola. She will offer advice on how to deal with growing business challenges and what can help maximize your potential while controlling stress levels. Raising awareness and working on emotional intelligence helps increase self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-control. This makes it possible to improve communication skills and manage change. After the lecture, Tolić will announce Future Leaders.

A New Community of Women in Retail

The last speaker before the lunch break will be Marina Gulin-Ivanišević, Executive Director at Vitapur, who will talk about her professional and personal journey.

Marina Starčević is the Executive Purchasing Director at Mlinar, and the lecture of our penultimate speaker is something you should not miss.

The official part of the conference will be closed by Sandra Kokorić, Marketing Director at SPAR Croatia, who will surely intrigue attendees with marketing stories from this retail giant.

You can register for the Conference for Women in Retail at Hotel Aristos here, and we will meet on October 20.
