Government Proposes Third Member of INA Management Board

The government proposes Marina Zovka as a member of the INA Management Board, who is currently a member of the Plinacro Management Board, it was announced by the government.

The government, as stated, today at a telephone session adopted a conclusion proposing to the Supervisory Board of INA to appoint Marina Zovka, an economist by profession with several years of management experience, as a member of the management board, until the appointment of management board members through a public competition, for a period of no longer than six months.

It is added that in the process of selecting candidates, the Commission for Deciding on Conflicts of Interest was also consulted, which, based on the request and submitted documentation, in accordance with the Law on Preventing Conflicts of Interest, gave its consent.

Today’s government proposal comes after one of its candidates for a member of the INA Management Board – Emanuel Kovačić, withdrew from the proposed candidacy a week ago.

At that time, it was decided that the government would submit a new proposal to the Supervisory Board of INA for the appointment of a management board member.

The day before, on Monday 19 September, the government proposed Miroslav Skalicki and Hrvoje Šimović to the INA Management Board along with Kovačić, until the appointment of management board members through a competition, and for a maximum period of six months.

After the scandal of misappropriation of INA’s gas for more than one billion kuna was revealed, the president of the INA Management Board Sándor Fasimon, resigned. Subsequently, other Hungarian members of the management board – Ferenc Horváth and József Simola – also stepped down.

The Croatian members of the INA management board are Niko Dalić, Darko Markotić, and Barbara Dorić.

The Croatian government emphasized that after the revelation of the scandal of selling INA’s gas below cost and a loss exceeding one billion kuna, it expects the resignation of the entire INA management and a review of the company’s management.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković stated that he called for accountability and resignations from the entire INA management, including the Croatian members, and that a solution for their departure without high severance payments will be found.
