Third Generation BMW X1: New Robust Style with More Equipment

At a media event in the Zagreb BMW Tomić City Store on Roosevelt Square, the third generation of the new BMW X1 was exclusively presented.

The robust aura of the new BMW X1, available with an internal combustion engine, as a plug-in hybrid or fully electric, impresses with its versatility and functionality. The surface treatment, lines, and elegant details of the exterior design of the BMW X1 showcase its identity as a Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) more clearly than ever.

Recognizable design features include strong proportions, almost square contours of the wheel arches, and the distinctive style of the BMW X model at both the front and rear ends. The upright front end of the new BMW X1 gives it a much greater sense of presence, with slim LED headlights, a large, almost square BMW kidney grille, X-shaped lines that expand towards the sides, and attractive chrome strips at the bottom serving as its defining element. Adaptive LED headlights with matrix high beams, pulsating turn signals, and variable light distribution are available only as an option. Viewed from the rear, the slim window on the trunk door, horizontal lines, striking LED lights, and expanded wheel arches create a typical SAV appearance.

A progressive ambiance, versatile interior space, and elevated seating position create an impressive driving experience, while key elements of the cabin redesign include a sleek instrument panel, a curved display, a “floating” armrest with an integrated control panel, and a smartphone tray with indirect lighting at the front of the center console.

Newly developed seats are available with leather upholstery options, and the options list also includes sports seats, electric seat adjustment with memory function, and a massage headrest. Acoustic comfort and passenger protection have also been improved, and the integrated passive safety concept now includes a new interaction airbag between the front seats.

The rear section of the new BMW X1 includes three full-size seats that offer a significant improvement in seating comfort. The backrests of the rear seats can be folded down or adjusted at different angles to increase trunk capacity. The trunk capacity can be increased from 540 to a maximum of 1600 liters, and a tow hitch, available as an option for the new BMW X1, is operated by an electric button press.

The new BMW X1 also provides its passengers with the latest generation BMW iDrive multi-sensory vehicle experience in the form of the standard BMW Live Cockpit Plus. Based on the BMW Operating System 8, it consists of a BMW curved display with its state-of-the-art graphics and menu structure, along with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, which has now gained additional skills. The fully digital display cluster consists of a 10.25-inch information display and a 10.7-inch control display. The new BMW iDrive is deliberately focused on providing intuitive control via touch and voice. Extensive digitization of the interior allows for a significant reduction in the number of physical buttons, controls, and switches required for operation.

Technological advancements achieved in the new BMW X1 compared to the previous model are also evident in a much greater variety of automated driving and parking systems. Standard features include cruise control with braking function and a front collision warning system that detects oncoming traffic when turning left (in countries where vehicles drive on the right) as well as pedestrians and cyclists when turning right. The Parking Assistant, including a rearview camera and a reverse driving assistant, is also part of the standard equipment list.

The list of optional features includes Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function, Active Navigation, exit warning function, and BMW Head-Up Display, as well as Surround View, Remote 3D View, BMW Drive Recorder, and Remote Theft Recorder functions. Existing features can be upgraded using Remote Software Upgrades, which also allow for the addition of new features (availability depends on the hardware installed in the vehicle and market conditions).

BMW X1 models are available for order at Tomić & Co. dealerships in Zagreb, Zadar, Rijeka, Split, Osijek, and Pula with numerous benefits and innovative financing options tailored to new environmentally friendly vehicles with low carbon emissions from the BMW Group.
