The government, at yesterday’s session, adopted a Conclusion proposing to the Supervisory Board of INA to appoint Miroslav Skalicki, Hrvoje Šimović, and Emanuel Kovačić as members of the company’s Management Board until the appointment of Management Board members through a competition, for a maximum period of six months.
As stated in the announcement, since the candidate for the Management Board Emanuel Kovačić has informed the government that he is withdrawing from the proposed candidacy for personal reasons, the government will submit a new proposal for the appointment of a Management Board member to the Supervisory Board as soon as possible.
Emanuel Kovačić is the current director of regulatory and public affairs at INA, and previously he was the head of legal affairs at Cemex, Miroslav Skalicki is an oil expert, and Hrvoje Šimović is a professor at the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb at the Department of Finance.
An economist, oil expert, and lawyer were supposed to join the Management Board of INA instead of Niko Dalić, Barbara Dorić, and Darko Markotić – three Croatian members of the Management Board who were asked to resign after the company was damaged by about one billion kuna in the resale of gas produced in Croatia, but they did not resign as it would leave them without severance pay.
