Trokut NEET Academy is a synonym for excellence

There are many young people who are exposed to the risk of an uncertain financial future in today’s times, and they are eager for change and learning. For those, popularly referred to as NEETs, the Šibenik incubator Trokut has been systematically helping for the second consecutive year by organizing its own NEET academies that educate or retrain them in various areas of IT, thus enabling them to enter the labor market more easily.

– The idea of the NEET academy emerged very quickly, after the first few months of operation of the Incubator for New Technologies in Šibenik, and it was exclusively driven by the lack of workforce in the IT sector – explains the director of Trokut, who is also the alpha and omega of all previous projects and academies of the incubator, Diana Mudrinić.

– This is a project that has been attracting young people from all over our country for quite some time, and a significant contribution to its success is certainly the fact that just under 80% of the participants of the first and second academies were immediately employed after completing them – emphasizes Mudrinić.

Less than a year after the launch of the academies, Trokut has produced the first generation of its NEETs who were trained as business analysts, at the end of June it trained Full-stack developers, and in the upcoming academy, it is time for those who want to engage in Data Science.

– In a relatively short time, we have managed to produce two generations of young ambitious retrained IT professionals. Thus, we connected unemployed youth with the direct needs of the market and potential future employers who simultaneously provided them with opportunities for other or new life chances. Regarding the upcoming third academy, we have been in negotiations with partners for a long time with whom we jointly developed a program for the technology that we at Trokut identified as the one that will 'carry' further development in IT, and that is precisely data science.

The partner for this academy is the British company Intuita Consulting, which definitely offers some of the best business conditions in the field of 'data science', and we are indescribably pleased that they recognized Trokut and Šibenik as the ideal place for development in this part of Europe. We can now proudly say that Šibenik is increasingly recognized as an IT center, both for entrepreneurs and for youth. In this way, we are creating conditions for our announced global initiatives that we are working on and will continue to work on – says Mudrinić.

One of the essential purposes and functions of Trokut is to create and promote a healthy and fertile entrepreneurial climate with an emphasis on the ICT industry as the industry of the future, thus bringing entrepreneurship and new technologies closer to the youth in society.

Trokut Digital NEET Academy, Data Science will start its program and candidate assessments in the fall of this year, and participants can expect an intensive six months of theoretical and practical work during which they will specialize in assisting companies in developing data ecosystems. The goal is set for participants not only to learn new skills but also to see the problems that leaders in that field face daily.

The schedule for participants will consist of lectures and practice that will last together for three to four hours, and will be held, as before, every other day so that participants have enough time to assimilate the material covered and solve tasks.
