14th Day of Great Plans Brings Answers: How to Prepare for Challenges in Business 2023?

Summer is slowly coming to an end, the hellish heat, we hope, has finished its course for this season, but autumn will certainly be hot, judging by the announcements. The hot autumn will certainly be discussed at the traditional Lider gathering, the Day of Great Plans, which will take place on September 21 at the Great Congress Hall of the Zagreb Fair.

The holiday season is far behind us, and preparations for the most exciting economic day of the year are in full swing. Given all the economic and political circumstances that have caught up with us after the pandemic, such as the Russian aggression against Ukraine, rampant inflation hinting at a recession, still present shortages of materials and raw materials, and (although to a lesser extent) unstable supply chains, it is certain that there will be no shortage of interesting topics and insights at the conference.

We will learn about them firsthand from the leaders of the Croatian economy and financial sector who will present their forecasts and predictions for the coming year.

We do not often have the opportunity to hear the opinions of some of the leading experts in the energy business in the region, such as Pavle Vujnovac, owner and CEO of the Energia naturalis group (ENNA), so we are looking forward to his arrival at the DVP to share his exceptional knowledge of market conditions with us. He will engage in a one-on-one conversation with the editor-in-chief of Lider, Miodrag Šajatović.

From the politicians, President Zoran Milanović will also contribute to the DVP, speaking about attracting investments and encouraging exports, a government envoy who will present the government’s economic policy for 2023, and Sandra Švaljek, Deputy Governor of the Croatian National Bank, who will discuss credit and monetary policy in 2023.

Two interesting international names that will enrich the program of the Day of Great Plans are Dan Bucșa, UniCredit’s chief economist for Central and Eastern Europe, and Deepak Bagla, CEO of Invest India, the national agency for promoting and facilitating investments promoted by the Government of India. Bucșa will provide his macroeconomic overview of the region, while Bagla will discuss global and regional trends in investing, startups, and technology.

Participants will also be greeted by Mihael Furjan, CEO of PLIVA Croatia and president of the Croatian Employers’ Association, who believes that the current crisis we are experiencing is also an opportunity to change what is not good and provide entrepreneurs with additional support.

Leaders from various private sector industries will present their companies’ plans and key challenges and trends in various sectors for the coming year at three interesting round tables.

In the discussion about the challenges in 2023 and how to prepare for them, which will not be lacking next year in these turbulent times and conditions of rising energy prices, Darko Aračić (Agronom), Ivan Čulo (Croatian Post), Alojzije Jukić (Comping group – Data Target), and Zvonko Kolobara (BAT Adria) will participate.

On risk management and sustainability, which will gain even greater importance in 2023, Ivana Budin Arhanić (Valamar Riviera), Gordan Kolak (Končar), Sanel Volarić (Groupama Insurance), and Timo Tervo (Pat Network International) will discuss.

At the third round table, Dragutin Kamenski (Kamgrad), Dušan Šešok (Iskra), and Matija Nakić (Farseer) will discuss the opportunities and dangers of business development.

In the last 13 years, the business gathering Day of Great Plans has become a hallmark of Lider’s conferences, gathering around 4,600 participants and 220 speakers, mostly leaders from various industries and prominent figures from political and public life. The conference has gained the status of an indispensable political-economic event, and this year it will cover key topics such as global trends, expectations for the next year in the region, monetary-credit policy in 2023, fiscal policy and its effects on consumption, attracting investments and encouraging exports, and forecasts for 2023.

Do not miss the opportunity to network with the most successful entrepreneurs, register in time to participate in the 14th Day of Great Plans taking place on September 21 at the Great Congress Hall of the Zagreb Fair. More information can be found at the link.
