After testing the service in the American market, the tech giant Google has decided to introduce the option for recommending eco-friendly routes to European users of Google Maps.
In more than 40 European countries, conscious drivers will be able to try a feature that guides them to their destination via routes that are not necessarily the shortest, but help them avoid traffic congestion, reduce emissions, and save fuel consumption.
Additionally, the app will calculate eco-friendly routes based on the type of car the user drives, taking into account whether the car is gasoline, diesel, hybrid, or electric. Google has not yet announced the exact launch date of the service, but they have confirmed that it is coming soon.
