Prime Minister Andrej Plenković reiterated on Friday that the management system at INA is poor and needs to be changed, stating that „we must put all cards on the table because this situation cannot continue any longer.”
"We must put all cards on the table; this situation simply cannot continue. It is not normal for someone at that level to arbitrarily determine the price of gas, while no one above them knows anything about it,” Plenković told reporters during a visit to the Virovitica-Podravina County.
He stated that Minister of Economy Davor Filipović will communicate with MOL, and the current circumstances change the content of that dialogue.
„These are now changed circumstances; these are no longer abstract and theoretical situations about who has how many shares, who is more important, and so on. We have a huge scandal and a very clearly poor management and decision-making system, and it cannot remain like this,” emphasized Plenković.
He reiterated that he will seek accountability from the entire INA Management Board, as well as the CEO. This is a systemic error, he asserted, adding that the Government "has mechanisms at its disposal" to resolve this issue.
„Regarding management, we have a concrete, proven, more than clear situation of abuse of position, which has led to significant financial damage for the company and the state. Now the circumstances are changing, and therefore these discussions will be different,” says Plenković.
The Prime Minister also stated that no one will be left without gas or electricity and reiterated that the Government will present assistance measures for households, the non-governmental sector, the public sector, kindergartens, schools, and universities next week…
Regarding the opposition, which is announcing new actions, Plenković asserted that it involves different political parties, ideologically incompatible, united by one thing: hatred towards HDZ.
