INA: The Management and Supervisory Board of INA Did Not Decide on Controversial Contracts, MOL Group Condemns the Actions of Škugor and Partners

Regarding the USKOK investigation, INA issued a brief statement. 

The Management and Supervisory Board of INA did not decide on the controversial contracts that are the subject of the USKOK investigation, the statement begins.

– Damir Škugor, who is a manager three levels below the Management of INA, had the authority to sign contracts worth up to 20 million euros with the co-signature of his deputy. In accordance with his powers, Damir Škugor is the signatory of all contracts that are the subject of the investigation – INA adds. 

INA will initiate the process of terminating the employment relationship with Damir Škugor, revise all existing gas sale contracts, and initiate all possible legal actions while extraordinary meetings of the Management and Supervisory Board of INA will be held in the coming days. A detailed investigation of this case is already underway at INA, and consequently, additional control mechanisms will be introduced. The supply of gas to the market is not in any way jeopardized, INA stated.

A brief statement was also issued to the public by MOL Group.

– Unfortunately, MOL Group learned about the Škugor case from Croatian media on Saturday. The company condemns the actions of Škugor and his partners and thanks the Office for the Prevention of Money Laundering, PNUSKOK, and USKOK for their work in uncovering the Škugor case. The company is cooperating with the relevant authorities in every way and will take all necessary steps to minimize the damage to INA.  As a first step, the Vice President of the Supervisory Board of INA József Molnár requested an extraordinary meeting of the Supervisory Board after receiving the information on Saturday early afternoon. At the meeting of the Supervisory Board, members of MOL Group will propose the initiation of a thorough and detailed investigation to understand all aspects of the Škugor case, including the control mechanism within INA. MOL Group proposes that the internal investigation be made available to the relevant authorities – concludes MOL Group.
