Filipović: It is known who the members of the Supervisory Board and Management of INA were at that time, Vanđelić: I did not see the contract, but the Management had to be informed

Former member of the Supervisory Board of INA and current Minister of Economy Davor Filipović, after public reactions that he should have noticed the malpractices occurring in that oil company, addressed journalists stating that the disputed transactions took place before he joined the Supervisory Board.

– The disputed contract was signed two months before I was appointed to the Supervisory Board of INA. Everything happened from mid-2020, it is known who was the president of the Supervisory Board during that period, who the members of the Supervisory Board were, it is also known who was the president of the Management of INA, it is known who the members of the Management of INA – said Filipović.

The Supervisory Board of INA consists of nine members, three of whom are proposed by the Government, while the other six are from MOL and representatives of the workers. The members of the Supervisory Board in the period mentioned by Filipović and also the members proposed by the Government were Damir Vanđelić, Luka Burilović, and Damir Mikuljan.

Damir Vanđelić was dismissed by the Government at the end of 2021 from that governing body, and he was once its president. Vanđelić stated today for Hina that he will comment on this case in the coming days, emphasizing that INA signed the disputed contract with the company OMS – Investment in October 2021, and that he was relieved in December of that year, so the report was received by the composition of the Supervisory Board that succeeded him.

After Vanđelić, Damir Mikuljan took over as president of the Supervisory Board, who has been a member of that body since 2017 and is also the head of the High Honorary Court of the HDZ. Along with Vanđelić, the president of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce Luka Burilović was also dismissed from the Supervisory Board of INA, and instead, Davor Filipović and Branimir Škurla were appointed.

They are still members of the Supervisory Board of INA, and besides them, the current composition of the Supervisory Board includes József Molnár, vice president, and members Zsuzsanna Ortutay, Gabriel Szabo, Domokos Szollar, Jasna Pipunić, László Uzsoki, and Ivo Ivančić.

The Director Proposes to the Management

In any case, as stated in Vanđelić’s team, the Supervisory Board never receives all individual contracts for review, but rather quarterly and annual reports from the Management and audits, whether internal or external.

– Since INA’s cooperation with the mentioned company began in mid-October 2021, the first place where some results of that cooperation could be seen was in the annual report, and Vanđelić was relieved before the annual report, so his successors could see if anything could be seen from the annual report about those first two and a half months of cooperation between INA and OMS Investments – they explain in Vanđelić’s team.

They add that the procedure for signing contracts is such that the director proposes to the Management, which then submits it to the legal service that provides its opinion, and then it is put to a vote at the Management meeting, which means that the Management had to be informed of all the details of the contract, they said from Vanđelić’s team.

The president of the Management Sandor Fasimon has held that position since July 2018. Among the members of the Management of INA appointed by the Government are Niko Dalić, the husband of Martina Dalić who was the Deputy Prime Minister, as well as Darko Markotić and Barbara Dorić. Darko

Markotić has been working at INA for about twenty years, and he first became a member of the Management in 2008 and remained in that position for a year. He re-entered the Management in March 2020. Before joining the Management, Barbara Dorić was the director of the company LNG Croatia.

The Hungarian members of the Management appointed by MOL on February 1, 2021, are Jozsef Simola and Ferenc Horvath.
