In the new issue, read about the Top 100 up-and-coming

The series 'Business Scene' has been featured in Lider for the past 29 weeks. We have written about the strongest entrepreneurs in each county and city, but we have also sought the most promising companies that we believe have a certain business future. Throughout Croatia, we spoke with more than 150 entrepreneurs whom we categorized in the section 'The Up-and-Comers'. The main criterion was not merely the physical growth of production or revenue. With the help of consultant Nikola Nikšić from Kontera, we identified companies that we assessed have the potential for sustainable development, which are not just 'gazelles' for one-time use, but have products or services on the basis of which they can achieve growth. Here is a narrower editorial selection of such entrepreneurs – the top 100 up-and-coming. All about 'the up-and-comers' was written by Goran Litvan.

On Marko Rakar’s business card, it says 'solving your puzzle', which translates to solving various puzzles that clients encounter. What kind of puzzles are these, what solutions does a person known primarily as a political consultant and communication advisor, who is also an IT expert and digital transformation specialist, seek? In addition, he is capable of providing concrete political analysis, is known as an expert in the fight against corruption, a financial forensic expert, and in addition to all this, he is the secretary of the Croatian branch of the International Association of Certified Fraud Investigators and the founder and representative of the Association of Members of Mandatory and Voluntary Pension Funds.

If that is not enough, Rakar is also a columnist, newsletter author, activist… He solves, as Ksenija Puškarić said, puzzles that no one else can, finding solutions in a sea of data and numbers that others cannot read. Rakar became known in Croatia about 15 years ago, thanks to politics, although he is not a member of any party. He was among the first to recognize the importance of social networks in the political arena, the first to 'play' with campaigns on the internet and social media, and today the focus of his business activity is something else – financial consulting.

The high revenue growth from sales of most domestic manufacturing companies, especially in the consumer goods segment, is not supported by an increase in the quantity of goods sold. The quantity sold has been decreasing since the beginning of the year, which is now obscured by tourist spending. Companies are aware of this, so those that are seriously concerned about what will happen with sales in the fall are consciously encroaching on their own profits to avoid excessive price increases. Manuela Tašler wrote in the new issue of Lider about how inflation and tourism obscure what is really happening with sales.

In a conversation with Gernot Hofstetter, the General Director of NFON for Austria and the CEE region, Donatella Pauković learned that Croatia has great potential for the development of cloud telephony and plays an important role in all their development scenarios.

Although the application of the euro as the official currency begins on January 1, 2023, for legal entities, some obligations prescribed by the Law on the Introduction of the Euro will arise as early as September 5, 2022. Stjepan Lović wrote a guide for entrepreneurs in the new issue regarding the introduction of the euro, or a simple overview of the most important news brought by the Law on the Introduction of the Euro, with a special focus on the obligations that will need to be fulfilled from September 5, 2022, and advice on how to align their business with the provisions of the Law.

The new issue also brings a story about entrepreneurs Damir Šarčević and Teo Žikić, and at the end of Lider, just like in previous weeks, you can read the supplement Summer Trend.
