The company Procter&Gamble has donated 100,000 kuna to the Biom Association. The donation is intended for the protection of griffon vultures and their habitats in the Kvarner area and also marks the official conclusion of the initiative ‘This is Our Home. Let’s Protect It’.
– Procter&Gamble’s initiative ‘This is Our Home. Let’s Protect It’ supports local heroes who care for environmental protection and the most endangered species in Croatia. Biom is one of them, as it has been dedicated to protecting the largest bird that nests in Croatia for years. Climate change brings us uncertainty, but each of us can significantly contribute to reducing environmental impact through personal choices of sustainably produced products – stated Roberta Čirjak, marketing manager of Procter&Gamble for Croatia.
– Collaboration with dm as a partner, for whom sustainable development is as important as it is for Procter&Gamble, was vital for this initiative. During two months, dm customers supported the protection of griffon vultures by purchasing P&G products, helping to raise a donation of 100,000 kuna – emphasizes Ivana Jednačak, drugs channel leader at Procter&Gamble.
Griffon vultures were widespread across almost all of Croatia about a hundred years ago, but today they are only present in the Kvarner area.
– The last population of griffon vultures is of immeasurable importance not only for Croatia but for the entire region. Currently, we count between 100 and 120 pairs and hope that this number will not decrease. If vultures could speak, they would probably tell us: ‘This is our home. Protect it’. A heartfelt thank you to Procter&Gamble for the valuable donation and the campaign that has raised awareness about the need to protect griffon vultures – stated Tomislav Hudina, financial director of the Biom Association.
The valuable donation was presented to the Biom Association with representatives from dm, where customers could support the initiative by purchasing selected P&G products during March and April.
