German CHIRON Group Acquires 90 Percent Stake in HSTEC

CHIRON Group based in Tuttlingen, Germany, specializing in CNC-controlled vertical machining centers for milling and turning, as well as automation, digital products, and services, has acquired 90 percent stake in HSTEC. This acquisition will provide HSTEC with significant benefits, including the breadth of engineering expertise and global presence of the CHIRON Group, according to the statement.

The HSTEC brand will remain, and the company will continue its existing operations: development, design, and production of high-speed spindles, engineering and customized solutions in industrial automation, as well as service and repair of spindles. Additionally, HSTEC will continue its authorized representation of companies Balluff, Bosch Rexroth, Hofmann, Wittenstein Alpha, and Mitutoyo for the Croatian market. The companies representing HSTEC in Germany and China will also remain unchanged.

The news comes shortly after we wrote about HSTEC as a high-tech exporter from Zadar surrounded by shopping centers in Lider’s series Business Scene.

With this acquisition, CHIRON Group expands its capabilities and strengthens the following competencies: development, production, and assembly of spindles and turning spindles, as well as clamping devices for machining centers produced within the Group. Furthermore, CHIRON Group is expanding its services worldwide, including the repair and optimization of spindles in existing machines.

The previous full name of the brand 'HSTEC – High Speed Technique' becomes 'HSTEC – brand of the CHIRON Group'. The official company name changes to CHIRON Croatia.

Alongside the future CHIRON Croatia, CHIRON Group is present in Eastern Europe with another company and will gradually develop the location in Zadar. More than 100 employees currently work at HSTEC, of which 25 are engineers, bringing the total number of employees in the Group to around 1900 worldwide.

The former CEO of HSTEC Mladen Ć arlija owns the remaining 10 percent of CHIRON Croatia and has been appointed as the director of CHIRON Croatia. HSTEC will be part of the brand association of the CHIRON Group: CHIRON, STAMA, FACTORY5, CMS, GREIDENWEIS, HSTEC.

HSTec was financially advised by InterCapital and Proventis and legally by Buterin & Partners. CHIRON was financially and tax advised by Grant Thornton and legally by Ilej & Partners.
