Two Domestic Charitable Campaigns Win the Most Important Global PR Award

Two Croatian campaigns that have assisted the most vulnerable groups in our society have been placed at the very top of excellence by the international jury of this year’s edition of the most important global public relations award, Golden World Awards for Excellence of the International Public Relations Association.

The strategic communication to the public for both projects was designed and implemented by the agency CTA communications. The campaign '1100 kilometers for 1100 therapies' for the Association of Parents of Children with Developmental Difficulties 'Brački pupoljci' and hikers Ranko Dragičević and Daniel Lončar won in the category of non-governmental organizations, while the marathon runner Kristijan Sindik initiative 'Golden Ribbon – 7 marathons in 7 days' was awarded in the event organization category.

The charitable action '1100 kilometers for 1100 therapies' was a very challenging hiking endeavor in which Ranko Dragičević and Daniel Lončar walked a total of 1100 kilometers along the most demanding Croatian hiking route 'Via Adriatica' in 49 days. Walking under harsh conditions of the largest and longest Croatian mountains, they drew attention to the daily struggles of the Association of Parents of Children with Developmental Difficulties 'Brački pupoljci' and appealed to citizens to donate funds for the children from Brač. Ultimately, 168,800 kuna was raised, and the campaign has already been awarded the gold Grand PRix by the Croatian Public Relations Association this year.

– This is already the second Golden World Awards for Excellence for Brački pupoljci in collaboration with our team, which shows how a small group can indeed make significant changes that are recognized on a global level. Every communication professional can and must use their knowledge for good, and such global recognitions are just additional motivation for that. Thank you to Ranko and Daniel, the brave parents from the Brački pupoljci Association, and the entire team at CTA communications who have woven their hearts into yet another project – stated junior communication advisor Valentina Mezdić, who is also the team leader of the campaign '1100 kilometers for 1100 therapies'.

The project 'Golden Ribbon – 7 marathons in 7 days' was conceived at the initiative of marathon runner Kristijan Sindik who, by running 295 kilometers from Split to Tivat in Boka Kotorska from February 4 to 10, 2021, managed to raise as much as 212,664 kuna for the procurement of infusion volumetric pumps, as well as additional equipment for treating the youngest patients in the pediatric oncology department of KBC Split. Each individual route was the length of a marathon, or 42 kilometers. All interested parties could join Kristijan’s marathons and purchase kilometers.

– The Golden Ribbon – 7 marathons in 7 days is a charitable event through which we aimed to advocate for the most vulnerable groups in society. With the help of a large number of people from Croatia and beyond, the action touched many, and we succeeded in our endeavor. For us, this campaign became a winner the moment the last kilometer for the children of Split was crossed, and by winning the IPRA communication award, we received confirmation from the profession that it is indeed one of the best in the world – stated Petar Tanta, director of CTA communications and team leader on the project.

In the awarded charitable campaigns, along with the aforementioned individuals, worked Mirjana Nižetić, Dijana Šabić, Mate Mladina, Gina Victorija Damjanović, Branimir Džaja, Gordan Turković, Velimir Hlupić and Hana Kajari. After winning the first IPRA award two years ago with the campaign 'Something Really Important', this is already the second and third recognition won at the Golden World Awards for Excellence in just three and a half years of existence of the young agency CTA communications, which strives daily to promote the values it believes in.

The Golden World Awards for Excellence is the most important award in the world of public relations, awarded since 1990 by the International Public Relations Association, promoting excellence and ethics in public relations. Its significance is confirmed by a jury composed of experts from around the world, as well as the number and diversity of applications received each year.
