Drive on electricity (for which you have no sources), buy expensive gas, wrap yourself in a blanket, heat to 19°, grit your teeth and endure the cold – these profound insights have reduced the famous European politics, whose history is filled with brilliant ruling minds and strategic moves. From brilliance to rust in just a few years. Indeed, ever since the rules on (non)propriety of cucumber curvature, up to the fresh ban on the mother of all tools, the hoe, it has become clear that Europe has drowned in its own labyrinths of foolishness, incompetence, undercapacity, lostness, unfortunately and ridicule.
In the last two and a half years, from the pandemic to the current war, such a conclusion has been quite cemented. The European enfant terrible, autocrat and despot is the only one daring enough to tell the emperor that he is naked – Europe has not only shot itself in the foot, it has shot itself in the lungs and is already suffocating. Brussels must admit that the sanctions have not achieved their goal; moreover, they had the opposite effect. We have been punished even more! With such self-punishment, there is no doubt that we will sink into recession.
Okay, no recession will probably last longer than Croatia’s six years. We will pull through once, someday, probably when the shaping of the new world order, or whatever you want to call this new reshaping of the world, is over. In it, the EU will only be able to languish as a bureaucratic giant and a strategic dwarf. However, regardless of the introductory sentences, and the fact that there are more than 30,000 well-paid bureaucrats working in the Commission alone, despite the sinking of European common sense, we still wonder at the end of the day how the hell we ended up in this position?
