Total industrial turnover in May was 24.3 percent higher compared to the same month last year, and compared to April, it increased by ten percent, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS). Additionally, total calendar-adjusted industrial turnover in May compared to the same month in 2021 increased by 28.2 percent in the domestic market and by 19.4 percent in the non-domestic market.
According to the main industrial groupings, in May, the highest annual increase was recorded in energy sales, which rose by 58.6 percent, followed by durable consumer goods by 33.2 percent, intermediate goods by 24.6 percent, non-durable consumer goods by 19.1 percent, and capital goods by 18.3 percent.
On an annual basis, industrial turnover has been growing since the beginning of 2021, except for February when it fell by 7.7 percent. In January last year, the smallest increase was recorded, at 1.7 percent compared to January 2020, while from March onwards, double-digit annual growth in industrial turnover was achieved, with the highest in April at 40.6 percent.
On a monthly basis, industrial turnover in May of this year was ten percent higher than in April, with an increase of 8.1 percent in the domestic market and 11.8 percent in the non-domestic market.
