The Croatian National Bank released a new commemorative coin of 25 kuna into circulation this morning at nine o’clock, marking the opening of the Pelješac Bridge to traffic. The author of the conceptual and artistic design is academic sculptor Damir Mataušić. The new commemorative coin was minted at the Croatian Mint and is issued in a quantity of 30,000 pieces.
Zagreb residents had already formed a long queue in front of the sales point of the Croatian National Bank on Franje Račkoga Street before nine o’clock, when the sale of the new coin began, in order to be among the first to 'get their hands on' the commemorative coin on the very day of the ceremonial opening of the Pelješac Bridge.
