Google Pay App Becomes Google Wallet in Croatia

Millions of people use their phones daily for payments in stores, storing event tickets, or boarding passes. Over the past few years, Google has recognized the need for a secure and simple way to store and access digital items such as payment cards, car keys, or digital IDs.

As stated in the announcement, today the Google Pay app will become Google Wallet and will support new digital items. The Google Wallet app will be available in Croatia on Android and Wear OS systems and will standardize the way essential items such as payment cards, event tickets, boarding passes, or loyalty cards are stored and accessed.

Additionally, Google Wallet will enable easy integration with other Google apps and services. For example, a user can add a boarding pass to the Google Wallet app, allowing for easy and quick access at any time. Furthermore, Google Wallet can notify the user about flight status and remind them of boarding times. To find their boarding pass, users simply need to open the Google Wallet app, swipe up on the screen, and tap the pass they wish to use.

Google states that privacy and security are fundamental aspects of the Google Wallet app, and the settings ensure privacy adjustments that meet the users’ preferences and needs. Highly personal items such as payment cards will not be shared, even with Google, without the user’s permission. Moreover, if a user loses their phone or it is stolen, they can locate it, lock it, or erase data from the device using the ‘Find My Device’ feature.
