Mate Rimac invests in eco-vegetable producer Gruntek

In the second year of Gruntek’s operations, Gruntek, the gardens of the future where experts care for vegetables daily and deliver them to companies and individuals through web applications, Mate Rimac, the founder and CEO of Rimac Group, has joined. With this move, Rimac is assisting Gruntek’s entry into the foreign market.

– We are extremely honored to announce our new investor – the one and only Mate Rimac. Rimac has finalized his investment, making Gruntek Rimac’s first green agro investment. This collaboration is a special incentive for our plans to expand into the foreign market – Gruntek announced on their LinkedIn profile.

Gruntek encourages urban populations to procure organic vegetables directly from producers, without intermediaries, transparently, at better prices, and without creating packaging waste and throwing away food surpluses from retail, which is inevitable in retail chains. Gruntek does not face such problems as they do not use plastic in production, packaging, or distribution.

This is also the first agro project in which Rimac is investing. Recently, Rimac invested for the second time in the Livno company Continental Adventures, amounting to 2 million euros.

Prior to that, in January of this year, Rimac, together with the fund SQ Capital and Tomislav Matić, the founder and director of Texo Management, invested 1.7 million kuna in the Croatian startup Codemap for the development of no-code software solutions. Codemap is also the first startup in which Rimac personally invested.
