RBA awarded a scholarship worth almost 100,000 kuna to future Algebra student Kiara Mak

The Luka Mak scholarship, awarded by Raiffeisen Bank Austria for the second consecutive year, will finance Kiara Sabati from Varaždin for the undergraduate study of digital marketing at Algebra University College for the next three years. After numerous applications due to high interest, the expert jury of RBA and Algebra decided that the Luka Mak scholarship would best support the higher education of the young woman from Varaždin.

Kiara graduated from the Economic School in Varaždin with excellent success, and she decided to study digital marketing at the Algebra University College at the encouragement of her mother. For many years, she trained handball, and she describes herself as someone who always strives to be smiling because she believes that there is no situation that a sincere smile cannot make more beautiful and easier.

– This scholarship will help me a lot because besides the costs of the university, I also have accommodation costs that I need to finance. I am happy to have the opportunity to learn and do something I truly love, into which I will certainly incorporate values such as teamwork that I learned through years of playing handball – said this year’s recipient of the Luka Mak scholarship.

– After reading Kiara’s application and considering all her achievements and values she demonstrated during the application process and interviews, we knew that she embodies the key values of the Luka Mak scholarship. A young person eager for knowledge, opportunities for development and learning, ambitious and kind, with values that are truly worth passing on. Luka was an exceptional individual, and we are proud that in his name another young emerging professional will be able to start their academic and career path. This scholarship is also an encouragement to all other future students to apply, learn, develop, and progress – stated Ivan Tolić, Director of Corporate Communications and Sustainable Development at RBA.

The awarding of the Luka Mak scholarship was also commented on by Mislav Balković, Dean of the Algebra University College, who emphasized that it was already clear from Kiara’s application that her interests and future plans are directed not only towards the niche of digital marketing and technologies but also towards the entire community.

– Such qualities should be encouraged, and since we at the Algebra University College share the same values and our students, teachers, employees, and everyone else involved in Algebra’s story are equally important to us, we recognized ourselves at first glance. When all other successes and results from the application process are added up, Kiara was definitely the best choice for this unique scholarship. We are pleased that in the next academic year we will enable another talented young person to enter academic and professional development in the field of digital marketing – emphasized Dean Balković.

The scholarship is named after Luka Mak, a young RBA expert in the niche of digital channels, platforms, and digital marketing, who passed away too soon, and it was initiated by his colleagues due to the kindness, positivity, and inspiration that Luka brought to everyday work. Luka Mak was an innovator and a professional, but above all, a good person whose positive energy and constant desire for learning and sharing knowledge are contained as the foundation of this scholarship.
