Zadar’s Rentlio, a growing technology company and one of the largest domestic companies in the segment of digital transformation in tourism, which has been present in the market for seven years with its eponymous application and cloud platform for managing tourist facilities, is preparing a new version of the product with which it plans to become a regional market leader.
The startup founded by co-owner and director Marko Mišulić will be significantly aided in achieving this ambitious plan by a strategic investment from Infinum Ventures, the investment branch of the Zagreb-based technology company Infinum, which invested an undisclosed amount in Rentlio at the beginning of this year and became its co-owner. This was the first investment of fresh capital in a company that today employs 23 people, with offices in Zadar and a team throughout Croatia. Mišulić firmly stands by his decision to develop a respectable company in his hometown of Zadar.
– Of all industries, IT is the one that is least dependent on location, which is why we do not encounter shortages or challenges that are specific solely to our location. I would dare to say that we face very similar challenges as all other domestic production IT companies, and these challenges primarily concern finding and attracting quality personnel who simultaneously compete in the global market. – says the founder of Rentlio, who concluded the business year 2021 with just over four million kuna in revenue.
Their Property Management, Channel Management, and Booking Engine system is currently used by almost 10,000 accommodation units. Their users are small family-run establishments, boutique hotels, and property managers, mostly in Croatia, about 70 percent, but also in around forty countries worldwide. The pandemic crisis changed their growth plans over the past two years but also created an opportunity.
