The most important annual event of the Lider Exporters Club is approaching, a project initiated to raise awareness among the public, especially policymakers, about the need to promote exports as a prerequisite for economic growth and GDP. This year’s export conference will be held on July 5th under the motto 'The Smart Know the Purpose of Export', and in addition to three panels, there will be five special lectures.
Croatian production for export is highly dependent on the import of raw materials, machinery, and equipment. The two-year pandemic period disrupted supply chains, and the war in Ukraine has further exacerbated this. The industry is forced to seek reliable new suppliers, but – where? Are there any in the region? What is the situation with alternative suppliers closer to home, in Croatia? Answers to these and other questions will be provided by Iva Tomić, Chief Economist at HUP, in a lecture titled 'Where and How to Find Suppliers'
Borna Petrović from LIBURNIA Maritime Agency will introduce everything in the first panel with a lecture titled 'Transport as a Source of Disruption in the Supply Chain', followed by a panel on 'How to Fulfill Obligations to Foreign Partners and Why Not to Reject New Customers'.
In the newly emerging circumstances in the global market, the hardest task for exporters is also the most important: to remain a reliable supplier to their partner, to deliver goods in the agreed quantity, on time, and at the agreed price. At this moment, this is a challenge of challenges. How are our exporters addressing this challenge? What to do when new customers appear in a situation where maneuvering is crucial to meet the agreement, and they are only interested in quantity and delivery time, not price? This panel will feature Vanja Burul from Končar, Marinko Došen from AD Plastik, Martina Dalić from Podravka, and Denis Nemčević from Spider Group.
When will inflation stop – is the 'million-dollar question'. In short, at this moment, no one can reliably say, although central banks around the world are seeking models to curb inflation. However, many changes in global market relations suggest that even after price increases are halted, some significantly increased prices will remain as they are. We are entering a period in which most calculations will need to change. Will it be more important to maintain market position or company profit? These questions will be addressed by the panelists of the second panel, which will be held under the aegis of 'Export in Times of Inflation – What Awaits Us? The panelists will include Ante-Janko Bobetko from Hamag Bicro, Josip Lozančić from BAT Adria, Boris Popović from Alarm Automatika, Srebrenka Saks from DHL International, and Tamara Perko from HBOR, while the panel will be moderated by Manuela Tašler.
