Subsidies for the Purchase of Energy-Efficient Vehicles Worth 108.3 Million Kuna Have Started

The Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund has announced public calls for co-financing energy-efficient vehicles worth 108.3 million kuna.

For citizens and companies, 103.3 million kuna is allocated, while five million kuna is reserved for legal entities from the public sector.

Units of regional and local self-government, as well as companies and institutions from the public sector, can apply from today at nine o’clock directly to the Fund, while citizens and private companies can apply from June 27 at eight o’clock, through authorized sales points, the Fund announced.

At the Fund’s invitation, 45 vehicle representatives with 81 brands and as many as 539 vehicle models have applied for this year’s co-financing program, for which it is possible to achieve up to 40 percent of eligible vehicle procurement costs.

The amount of the subsidy depends on the category of the vehicle. For example, plug-in hybrid vehicles of category M1 are financed up to 40,000 kuna, while M1 category vehicles with electric drive are financed up to 70,000 kuna. The list of vehicles and 301 sales points where they can be purchased can be found on the website vozimoeko.fzoeu.hr.

To qualify for co-financing, interested parties must select a vehicle and contact one of the sales points registered in the Fund’s database and listed with the vehicle list.

The application submission serial number is assigned chronologically, and a successful reservation is confirmed by a receipt that the sales point will print and give to the buyer. The receipt will also include instructions for paying the mandatory minimum advance, which amounts to seven percent of the requested funds from the Fund.

Subsidy reservations will be possible until the amount of reserved funds in the application reaches 103.3 million kuna.

– This model has proven to be extremely successful as it guarantees a high percentage of utilization of contracted funds. This year we have further increased our budget, especially for companies and citizens, and according to the information we have from the field, we expect a very high interest –  emphasizes the acting director of the Fund, Alenka Košiša Čičin-Šain. She adds that thanks to the subsidies, the number of newly registered energy-efficient vehicles on our roads is increasing.
