In addition to enjoying the beach and sipping refreshing drinks, many seek additional entertainment during their summer vacation, especially those spending it with children. Vacationing with children can sometimes be a challenge because when it is over 30 degrees outside, it is difficult to entertain the little ones, whether you are on the Adriatic or have decided to spend the summer in continental Croatia. However, the daily monotony during hot summer days is best resolved by trips to water parks.

The title of the most visited water park in Croatia undoubtedly belongs to Aquapark Istralandia, located in the hinterland of Istria’s Novigrad. It is a water park that offers a variety of animation programs, sports tournaments, and other activities with its slides and the largest wave pool in the area. However, it is not only intended for families with children but also for adrenaline enthusiasts, so it is no wonder that it has the highest slide in Croatia, standing at 27 meters. The park is located next to the Nova Vas exit on the Istrian Ypsilon, and is 7 kilometers away from the center of Novigrad.

In addition to Istralandia, our largest peninsula also has Aquacolors, the largest water park in Croatia, which claims to be suitable for all ages. Located in Poreč, the park covers an area of over 100,000 square meters and is only one kilometer away from the sea. With numerous pools for adults, attractions for children, pools, and the so-called ‘lazy river’ that can be traversed in 15 minutes, Aquacolors aims to become the most visited in Croatia.

On the site of an archaeological site in Bale, there is also Paleo park. This is a water and educational park where you can learn about dinosaurs, and you can also see dinosaur bones that were found in that area of Istria. There are also three pools for adults and children. The water park spans 16,200 square meters and is part of the Mon Perin campsite.

In the neighboring Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, on the island of Lošinj near the center of Mali Lošinj and not far from the most popular Čikat beach, where luxury hotels are located, is the water park Čikat. Covering 6,300 square meters, the park has several pools with seawater, and the slides offer all-day entertainment for families with children.

In Dalmatia, the most visited is Aquapark Dalmatia, located in the family part of the Solaris complex in Šibenik. The park offers attractions for both children and adults, including numerous slides, jets, sprinklers, and waterfalls. For children, there is a ‘kids zone’ and an underwater fairy tale with a colorful cave. With an area of 8,000 square meters, the park has a capacity for a thousand visitors, and one of the main attractions is the water fortress, which has a large barrel that periodically dumps a large amount of water to refresh visitors.

For those unable to go to the sea or looking for weekend refreshment, they can also find it in Međimurje, the vicinity of Zagreb, and in Daruvar.

In the very north of Croatia, Terme Sveti Martin can boast of its water park MartiLandia. Fun activities for children and adults, food and drink points, and animation activities are what this park offers, and there are also children’s water playgrounds and outdoor pools with heated water. There is something for everyone.

Daruvar also has its offer of entertainment for hot summer days. Located in the heart of the city, the thermal water park Aquae Balissae has two large outdoor pools, children’s pools, two slides, and catering facilities, and during winter, an indoor pool with swimming lanes, a children’s pool, a cave, a slide, and a whirlpool is open to visitors. This water park uses geothermal water, continuing Daruvar’s tradition of healing and enjoyment that has lasted for over two thousand years.
