Limited edition items featuring recognizable festival motifs of the International Children’s Festival in Šibenik, such as the festival angel, artistic motifs from the streets and squares of Šibenik, and the motif of this year’s festival poster signed by the versatile Croatian visual artist Tisja Kljaković Braić, will be available for purchase starting Wednesday, June 15.
In anticipation of the 62nd International Children’s Festival in Šibenik, which will be ceremonially opened this Saturday, June 18, at the summer stage in the Republic of Croatia Square, with a musical performance 'Finally, an Orchestra' performed by the Zagreb Philharmonic and directed by Petra Radin, the MDF Office announces new updates. This time, they are announcing the opening of a souvenir shop that will operate in the atrium of the Croatian National Theatre in Šibenik and online.
– This is the first time the Festival is opening its souvenir shop. The idea has been around for some time, and this year we have moved from idea to concrete realization. About 70 different items will be available for sale. Our desire and goal is for children, visitors of the Festival, and our city to take home memories from the festival, and we hope this is another festival step forward and that we will only grow in the years to come – said Jakov Bilić, director of the HNK in Šibenik under whose auspices the Festival is organized and held.
The web shop is being created in collaboration with the portal mojekarte.hr, with which the Šibenik HNK has been cooperating for some time, where the book 'Permanent Conflict with the Evil One: Ivo Brešan', authored by Grozdana Cvitan, published by the Šibenik Theatre, can already be purchased. You can find the link to the web shop on the website of the Croatian National Theatre in Šibenik.
The souvenir shop’s working hours in the atrium of the Theatre are from 10 AM to 12 PM and from 6 PM to 10:30 PM.
FESTIVAL IN GUESTS
Speaking of the motifs of the festival poster and the author Tisja Kljaković Braić, it is worth mentioning that her poster and a series of posters from previous editions of the MDF can be viewed by visitors at the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery in Zagreb until July 10 as part of the Ninth Croatian Biennale of Illustration. The exhibition of festival posters by renowned Croatian authors who have signed posters over the years and have received praise from experts and admiration from the public is the result of collaboration between the MDF, the State Archives in Šibenik, and the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery.
