The Faculty of Economics of the University of Zagreb Announces a Competition

POSTGRADUATE UNIVERSITY (DOCTORAL) STUDY 

ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS ECONOMICS

Conditions for enrollment in the postgraduate university (doctoral) study:

1. Completed undergraduate university and graduate university studies or integrated undergraduate and graduate university studies resulting in 300 ECTS credits and the academic title of Master of Economics or another undergraduate university and graduate university study in the field of social, humanities, or other sciences, or completed undergraduate university studies resulting in the professional title of Bachelor of Economics or another undergraduate university study in the field of social, humanities, or other sciences.

2. Average grade of 4.0 achieved during studies. If the candidate has a lower average, it is necessary to submit recommendations from two university professors.

The relevant average grade is the one achieved in the undergraduate university and graduate university studies or integrated undergraduate and graduate university studies or undergraduate university studies.

3. Knowledge of the English language.

4. Upon enrollment in the study, a person who has not completed undergraduate university and graduate university studies or integrated undergraduate and graduate university studies or undergraduate university studies in the field of social sciences, field of economics, at the proposal of the Council of the postgraduate university (doctoral) study of Economics and Business Economics, the Committee for postgraduate university (doctoral) studies will determine the difference exams that must be passed.

 

*Applications are accepted until September 23, 2022.

The planned start of classes in the study is November 14, 2022.

Applications must include:

1. Certified copies of diplomas from all levels of study

2. Transcripts of grades from all levels of study

3. Two recommendations from university professors (if the average grade in the study/studies was lower than 4.00)

4. Citizenship certificate – original, certified copy, or electronic record from the Register of Citizens

5. Birth certificate – original, certified copy, or electronic record from the birth registry

6. Curriculum vitae

7. Decision of the organization regarding the payment of tuition fees (if the tuition fee is paid by a legal entity)

8. A candidate who has not completed undergraduate university and graduate university studies or integrated undergraduate and graduate university studies or undergraduate university studies outside the Republic of Croatia must submit a decision from the University of Zagreb’s Commission for the Academic Recognition of Foreign Higher Education Qualifications.

9. A motivation letter (approximately 500 words or a maximum of one page) in which the candidate states the motives for enrolling in the study, the area of scientific interest, as well as the results they wish to achieve.

     

    In addition to the evaluation of the application and accompanying documentation, part of the selection process includes an online interview of candidates with members of the Study Council.

     The dates for online interviews will be arranged with candidates who meet the formal requirements for enrollment in the study, after the deadline for submitting applications.
