Moslavina – the Hidden Land

Knowing that for many years the Moslavina region has a good perspective in both the overall and tourism markets, and considering the announced shifts in the promotion of Croatian tourism and branding of Croatia, especially its continental part, the LAG „Moslavina“ and five tourist boards from the Moslavina area, within a cooperation project co-financed by EU funds through the project „Developing the Area through Tourism“, have developed a branding strategy for the Moslavina destination. As part of the branding strategy  a visual identity and slogan for Moslavina were created, and to contribute to additional promotional activities, an illustrative tourist map of the area, a promotional film, and the website moslavina.travel were made, which consolidates the tourist offer of the entire region.

With the successful implementation of two projects "Creating a Branding Strategy for the Moslavina Destination" and "Digitalization of the Tourist Offer of Moslavina", tourism stakeholders have been provided with a tool that certainly enhances the recognition of the Moslavina destination and its offerings in the tourism market and makes them available on the largest sales channel of the 21st century – the internet.

Models of tourism and other destination branding differ depending on the objectives, but there are elements that can be applied everywhere, so it is crucial that activities start from data and the thinking of the target audience, rather than from one’s own opinions and instincts, as successfully designed marketing campaigns influence economic growth, create new jobs, and provide opportunities for interested investors who have access to numerous and diverse investments. It is well known that the main motivators for travel are beautiful landscapes, pleasant activities, and destinations of good value, and the Moslavina region is that ''new'' destination that offers a fantastic range of experiences for increased tourist flow, which also opens doors for joint ventures with partners and potential investors.

Forecasts for European tourism are strong, and it is believed that the traffic accessibility of Moslavina, including its diverse offerings such as Moslavačka gora, Lonjsko polje, and eno-gastro offerings, will continue to be a motivation for visiting the destination, both for Europeans and tourists from other continents. Moslavina is globally competitive in tourism, considering the structural problems faced by other leading industries, as it is rich in natural and intangible cultural heritage, making it a sustainable destination with very good energy-efficient predispositions and innovative digital-software solutions.

Branding Moslavina has identified its key areas as well as challenges for attracting and retaining the workforce. The branding strategy and digitalization of the Moslavina offer will contribute to greater productivity across all sectors and better use of assets, which will, in the long term, enable economic growth throughout the country while offering great value to visitors.

During the presentation of the project in April, significant support was received from all stakeholders and the public, as well as the relevant Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and the project launch was marked by the event ''Moslavina – the Hidden Land'', lasting several days.
