Bomark Pak will represent Croatia in Monaco at the global final of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year program

This Thursday in Monaco, an eight-member expert jury of the global EY Entrepreneur Of The Year program, organized by the consulting and auditing firm EY, will announce the new EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year. Croatian entrepreneurship and its success story will be represented by Miljenko Borščak and Stiven Toš, the leading figures of Bomark Pak and winners of the seventh Croatian edition of this prestigious award program for the most successful entrepreneurs, competing against 50 entrepreneurs from 41 countries.

Borščak and Toš from Bomark Pak, the third largest European and the only Croatian manufacturer of stretch films, carried the title of EY Entrepreneur Of The Year in strong competition from 28 companies and 44 registered entrepreneurs at the seventh domestic edition of the program held in March this year.

Bomark Pak will participate in the global final in Monaco from June 8 to 10, and alongside Borščak and Toš, the Croatian entrepreneurial scene will also be represented by a delegation consisting of some members of the jury from the Croatian edition of the program.

– The innovative duo from Bomark Pak is more than ready to compete in the grand final in Monaco. They, like all previous winners of the program, demonstrate that Croatian entrepreneurship is very much alive, relevant, and making great strides forward. Every year we meet a number of entrepreneurs who prove day by day that success is possible despite the numerous challenges that circumstances and global upheavals present to them. I wish Miljenko and Stiven the best of luck, and I am sure that Monaco will be an unforgettable experience for them – said Berislav Horvat, Country Managing Partner at EY Croatia.

Alongside global trend leaders

Through a packed three-day program, the Croatian winners and delegation will share their views and thoughts, as well as suggestions for improving the entrepreneurial climate in our country and other countries around the world, in the company of entrepreneurs from all corners of the globe, including last year’s EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year JungJin SEO. The South Korean entrepreneur is the owner of a global pharmaceutical company worth several billion dollars that develops innovative drugs for treating serious diseases.

Let us recall, Bomark Pak was founded in 1992 as a small family distribution company, and today it is part of Bomark Group, which is engaged in the production and sale of packaging products. A respectable manufacturer and distributor operating throughout Europe employs over 300 people in its production facility in Ludbreg and offices in Varaždin, Sarajevo, Ljubljana, and Belgrade. Care for the environment and the ecological acceptability of innovative products, as well as the automation of the production line and state-of-the-art machinery, set Bomark Pak apart from the competition in both domestic and international markets.

– Participation in the selection for EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year is a special recognition for us as entrepreneurs, but also for every employee and family member whose support has enabled us to turn our idea into a successful business. It will be exciting to share our perspective and ideas in the company of fellow entrepreneurs from around the world, and I have no doubt that we will return home, above all, richer for new acquaintances, experiences, and impressions – said the representatives of Bomark before their departure for the global final.

The successful duo from Ludbreg is also the seventh Croatian representative in the selection for EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year. The first Croatian edition was held in 2014 when the title of the first Croatian EY Entrepreneur Of The Year was awarded to the duo Alan Sumina and Zoran Vučinić from the company Nanobit. The following year, Đuro Horvat from the company Tehnix was declared the best. Marko Pipunić from the Osijek company Žito was declared the winner in 2016, while the recognition of the fourth edition of the Croatian EY Entrepreneur Of The Year went to Mate Rimac, founder and owner of Rimac Group. In the jubilee fifth edition, Silvio Kutić, Roberto Kutić, and Izabel Jelenić from the company Infobip celebrated, and before Bomark Pak, the prestigious title was held by Hrvoje Josip Balen, Mislav Balković, and Tomislav Dominković from Algebra.
